MATREX finalize two airport projects in Cameroon

MATREX has been awarded two major BHS projects in Cameroon.

• Design and manufacture of baggage handling system for the arrival area at Yaoundé airport (Cameroon). The BHS system consisted of belt conveyors (collector, sequencing, injector…) and two T-shaped baggage reclaim carousels (76m and 56m).
• Development of a baggage handling system for the departure area at Garoua airport. The infrastructure included 6 baggage check-in conveyor, an odd-size check-in conveyor, free roller conveyors, belt conveyors and a remote maintenance system.

• (for Garoua airport) the Matrex technical team has functionally optimized the baggage check-in conveyors. It is even more robust, more reliable, less energy consuming and it requires very limited maintenance operations. 

The airport facilities will be commissioned in early 2020. Projects to extend the two BHS systems are already being studied, as well as other airport facilities, also in Cameroon.
