Daifuku airport technologies wins baggage handling system contract at Montréal Pierre Elliot Trudeau Airport

Montreal, Quebec, Canada (October 4, 2016)

Daifuku Airport Technologies (ATec), a leading provider of airport baggage handling systems, announced today it has been awarded an Explosives Detection System (EDS) Retrofit contract utilizing its Baggage Tray System technology for the Montréal Pierre Elliot Trudeau Airport in Montreal, Quebec, Canada.

Daifuku Airport Technologies will replace the existing international departure system with an Individual Carrier System (ICS) utilizing Daifuku’s Baggage Tray System (BTS) technology to improve the tracking efficiencies and reduce in-system times.
The new system will be installed over multiple phases, including the integration of Morpho CTX 9800, standard belt conveyors and the BTS to provide transportation both pre and post Explosive Detection System with delivery to final sortation and baggage makeup. The system will also utilize the latest tray management software to ensure the maximum operating efficiency and future expansion.
