The business model of REEL has always been to build, and then continuously improve, a leading position in the handling and access Equipment for specialized industrial process environments.

In more than 60 years of activity, the REEL Group has successfully implemented its business model in several key industries such as Nuclear Power production, Aluminium production, Aircraft manufacture and maintenance, Bulk processing, Steel making, and has built-up a 1500 persons group of companies by acquiring companies of the same specialty in Germany and Canada.

The main steps of its continuous growth, backed by a strong financial situation have been:
• 1946 : Creation of the parent company “Ferrand & Frantz”, which will become REEL (standing for Rational, Economical, (a)Esthetical and Light), a few years later.
• Fifties and Sixties : Development of standard travelling cranes.
• Seventies and Eighties:  Significant development in the French nuclear sector, and simultaneous development of special equipment for the maintenance of wide body aircraft (docking systems and telescopic platforms), development of REEL’s Maintenance Division.
• Nineties : Development of REEL abroad by external growth with the acquisition of similar companies in Canada, Netherlands and Germany, and establishment of  branches worldwide.
• From 2000: the REEL Group has progressively reinforced its position in all its traditional business areas, and simultaneously enlargedits experience to the Defence Sector and, recently, to the oil and gas pipe handling systems.

Thanks to our success and experience on Airbus A380 maintenance docks and flexible multi-aircraft docking systems, as well as on telescopic platforms, particularly in Europe and Middle East (where Emirates and Qatar Airways belong to our customers list), we would like to share our know-how and develop further our cooperation with Aircraft Maintennace companies.

AIRCRAFT MAINTENANCE AND PAINTING

• Special Access Systems for the light maintenance of aircrafts (light docks and platforms, telescopic platforms) for all types of aircrafts, ranging from single aisles aircrafts such as A320 and B737 series, to wide body aircrafts such as A330-A340-B767-B777-B747 up to A380, including both new wide body aircraft series of Airbus and Boeing (A350XWB and B787dreamliner).

• Special Access Systems for the heavy maintenance of aircrafts and engines (complete heavy docking systems, suspended or on-floor, with a particular know-how of complex multi-aircrafts docking systems, telescopic platforms). REEL’s experience also covers all types of aircrafts, ranging from single aisles aircrafts such as A320 and B737 series, to wide body aircrafts such as A330-A340-B767-B777-B747 up to A380, including both new wide body aircraft series of Airbus and Boeing (A350XWB and B787dreamliner).
