The Georgian air navigation service provider Sakaeronavigatsia Ltd and Thales signed a contract for the replacement of both primary and secondary radars at Tbilisi International Airport. Implementation of the new radar system is scheduled for spring 2009 and will provide complete airspace security around Tbilisi. |

Thales signed a contract with Angolan Air Traffic Services provider
ENANA to supply the
latest version of its EUROCAT control centre and one Mode S radar to Luanda Airport. The contract, which came into force in October 2008, will modernise and improve Angola’s
current CNS/ATM
capabilities. The contract will supply Luanda Airport with an en-route and approach air traffic
control system, a voice communication switch, a voice recording system, and a MSSR radar with remote monitoring and display systems. Thales will also be providing extensive training. |

Logan Teleflex has won a US$3.6 million contract to supply baggage handling systems to Nouméa-La Tontouta International Airport in New Caledonia. The baggage handling solution is part of the extension and refurbishment project for New Caledonia’s main airport and provides integrated baggage screening. It will be implemented in phases, with the departure area going live in two stages in Nov-09 and Jun-10 and the arrival area at the end of 2010 and the end of Jan-11. The inbound system comprises two manual 1,200 bags per hour conveyor lines that transport baggage to the claims area. The high-tech, energy-efficient system is managed by an intelligent control unit that monitors throughput and EDS availability to ensure optimal operation.

The Moroccan National Airports Authority (ONDA) has chosen ALSTEF to supply the Baggage Handling System of the new international terminal of Oujda Angads. ALSTEF will supply a turnkey installation for the sortation and screening of hold baggage by means of DCV Autover system developed with Beumer. The installation, which is due to operate in 2009, will handle 1440 bags per hour and will be the most advanced BHS in operation in Africa.

IER has been selected to provide Air New Zealand with a total of 111 IER 918 self-service check-in kiosks. The IER 918 kiosks chosen are equipped with a 2D barcode scanner for reading boarding passes that have previously been printed or received on their mobile phone. In addition to the
kiosks, IER has also supplied to Air New Zealand the Common Use Self Service application, as well as the remote supervision of the kiosks. The first systems are deployed at Auckland, followed by Christchurch and Wellington. |

A EUR 2.4 million contract has been awarded to Logan Teleflex by Aéroports de Lyon to completely modernize its departure terminal systems at Lyon’s ‘Saint Exupéry Airport’. The comprehensive 1700 bags/hour BHS will provide an integrated turnkey solution for the airport’s Departure Terminals 12 and 15. The system will go live in December 2008. The specially-developed system comprises three in-gauge baggage check-in areas, with 20 check-in areas in total. |

participated in the 1st symposium on future technologies and solutions for Air Traffic Management organized by ASECNA (Agency for the Safety of Air Navigation in Africa and Madagascar) from 22 to 24 October 2008 in Yaoundé, Cameroon.

Bangui M’Poko airport opened in 1967 and is no longer compliant with international safety and security standards. Consequently, the French Ministry of Transportation and Civil Aviation entrusted Egis Avia with the study for the required work to ensure compliance of the airport with regulations and to conduct its expansion. This operation also includes a study for the building of a surrounding fence. A draft presenting the conclusions of this study should be published by the end of October 2008.

Alstef has been awarded 3 contracts for the operation and maintenance of baggage handling systems.
In Dubai,
Emirates airlines placed an order for maintenance and assistance to operation of the baggage handling system by D.C.V. (Destination Coded Vehicles) in the terminal dedicated to crew members.
In Paris CDG Airport, Alstef has been chosen for the process control and maintenance of the BHS of the new Terminal 2G.
In Nice Airport,
Alstef was awarded the contract for the preventive and corrective maintenance of the baggage handling system of the Terminal 2-2 at Nice-Côte d’Azur airport for a period of 4 years.

Egis Avia carries out a study on the regulatory standards issued by EASA (European Aviation Safety Agency) regarding air transport and those issued by Eurocontrol or the European Commission concerning ATM. The study specifically focuses on Data Link systems and safety aspects and will issue recommendations. This study should foster connections between Eurocontrol and EASA as far as European regulation on Air Traffic Management is concerned.

Thales UK signed a contract to supply and install a Cat III 420 Instrument
Landing System (ILS) and 415 Distance Measuring Equipment (DME) to Liverpool John Lennon
Airport. Thales UK now has orders for more than 25 Thales 420 ILS systems to be supplied to the
Ministry of Defence and Regional Airports in the UK.
Thales UK also signed a framework agreement with The Manchester Airports
Group plc for the provision of specialist aviation related services and products to all airports in The
Manchester Airport Group of Companies, which includes Manchester, Nottingham East
Midlands, Bournemouth and Humberside Airports for a period of three years, with an
option to extend by a further two years.
These orders continue Thales UK’s success in the regional airports market.

The National Airport Minsk received a quality certificate from the certification agency Bureau
Veritas. The certificate is of the OHSAS 18001:2007 series on ‘Occupational Health
and Safety Assessment’. In April 2008, ‘Bureau Veritas Certification Ukraine’ conducted
a certification audit of Minsk Airport and confirmed that the occupational health and safety management
of the National Airport corresponds to international standards and helps control the dangerous production
factors and risks, prevent accidents and emergencies. This system considerably increases the airport’s
image in the global market of aviation services. |

The IER 400 and IER 560 are designed for checkin operations and cover the large scope of airline and airport needs from single feed up to four feeds. Thorn Airfield Lighting has been awarded projects in Algeria to supply four complete mobile
airfield ground lighting systems designed for the Army and for civil emergency or temporary
lighting. The mobile systems provide runway and taxiway lighting functions with remote control facilities
for fully ICAO- compliant airports. They include F18 transformer-lights, PAPI system, primary leads, an
electrical substation shelter, diesel generator set, and retractable lighting towers on road trailers. |

The latest reports issued by the American National Institute
of Standards and Technology (NIST), state that Sagem Sécurité’s fingerprint recognition
algorithms have outpaced 19 other analyzed algorithms in terms of accuracy, interoperability
and speed.

Alpha-Airport was selected by the Algerian National Civil Aviation Establishment, to supply 8 complete high intensity Airfield Lighting Systems for the main Algerian southern airports. Those systems include Runway, Approach and Taxiway Lights, CCR, Isolating Transformers and a Control and Monitoring System in Control Tower, equipped with “Sup‘Air Vision” software, designed by Alpha-Airport.
Alpha-Airport also won a major contract with the Seychelles Civil Aviation Authority. It will provide complete Airfield Lighting System for Praslin airport and Guidance Signs plus Parking Floodlight equipment for Mahé airport. Moreover two Trailer mounted Portable Airfield Lighting Systems “BELUGA 03” will be delivered to be used at any Seychelles archipelago air strip. |

Thales was awarded a contract from FINAVIA, the Finnish Air Traffic Service
provider, for the delivery, installation and operational commissioning of its MAGS1 transponder
multilateration system at Helsinki Vantaa Airport. The contract will be
fully executed in 2008.
The MAGS surveillance system will provide high accuracy, high update rate surveillance for all
transponder equipped aircraft operating in Helsinki-Vantaa’s movement and apron areas. |

Logan Teleflex has won a major contract worth more than USD 7.7 million to supply a
baggage-handling system for Anchorage International Airport in Alaska. The Logan Teleflex intelligent BHS has 2 conveyor lines from ramp level to baggage claims. The outbound
system measures 2550 ft and begins at 3 ticket counters. The 3 conveyors converge into two
lines and feed 4 EDS (explosive detection systems). A system control unit monitors baggage throughput and availability of the
EDS machines. This ensures a capability of 2000 bags per hour.

IER has been selected to install twelve self-service check-in kiosks at Billund Airport in Denmark. The airport selected the new-generation IER 918 CUSS kiosk to offer self-check-in to its passengers. IER 918 takes advantage of emerging trends such as e-ticketing, 2D bar-coded boarding
passes, the ability to read e-passports, and to check-in airline passengers with or without bags. All the
kiosks will be up and running by the end of March 2008. In addition, Billund Airport has chosen the IER monitoring system to supervise by themselves their
kiosks operations.

The Civil Aviation Authority of Singapore
(CAAS) and Thales signed the LORADS1 III contract for the supply of a new Air
Traffic Control system replacing the current LORADS II system supplied by Thales in
1995. Under the terms of this contract, valued at over 145 million Euros, Thales will design,
manufacture, supply, deliver, install, test and commission the next generation
EUROCAT system on a turnkey basis.

The third Runway at Beijing Capital International Airport has been put into operation following a
successful flight test acceptance of a new CAT III ILS provided by
Thales.
The Thales CAT III ILS is capable of safely guiding aircraft on automatic precision landing in very
low visibility conditions, and confirms
Thales leading position in China, with more than 300 Navigation systems installed in recent years.
