* SAGEM has been selected by Aéroports De Paris (ADP), as the Prime Contractor for the biometric identity control of the personnel entitled to access the apron security areas. This programme, which uses fingerprints, will be implemented in partnership with OMNITECH, specialist in security information systems. The project concerns 90,000 persons spread among the two airport platforms of Roissy Charles de Gaulle, and Orly.
The system will be installed by the end of 2003 and throughout the first semester of 2004. It will enforce security, increase control reliability whilst reducing the staff’s access time to their working zones. The system integrates fundamental technological skills fully mastered by SAGEM: fingerprint biometric recognition, data encryption and contact-less smart cards.

* SCHNEIDER ELECTRIC -
Nowadays, with a 400 Hz power supply, aircraft are usually powered on the
ground by GPUs (Ground Power Unit) during loading and unloading operations.
In view of various safety and environmental protection issues, these units are due to be removed from service. They are, in some
cases, replaced by equipment integrated in the passageways. To ensure even
greater safety, Schneider Electric is proposing to generate this power far
away from the passenger boarding bridges and aircraft and then supply it from there. The technology has
already been incorporated at Orly airport and one of the terminals at
Charles de Gaulle airport, and has been in operation for over a year.
