Consulting
Steria's consulting business aims to pinpoint creative potential between the pre-production study phase and rollout and operation of the services.
Customers measure the value of a consulting service by the implementation of the solution and achievement of the desired result. Steria's ability to commit to future gains and ROI on the transformation proposed is the key feature in its original approach to consulting with its customers.
Steria consultants join the project teams during the different phases: from the pre-production study phase through to the development and operation of the services in question. They recommend and implement industrialised service solutions, enabling businesses and public authorities to benefit from highly responsive information systems tailored to their individual challenges.
Steria's consulting services also include core business, change management and technology advisory services (IT security, architecture design).
Airport IT Masterplan
Example: In 2006, Steria Consultants performed a review of business processes related to gate management at Singapore Changi Airport and prepared the system tender specifications for the Airport’s Gate Management System (AGMS) based on the outcome of the review. Subsequently, Steria will undertake the project management of the system implementation up to the commissioning of the system
Managed services
Steria is a leading player on the European managed services market and a key provider to the public sector. The Group offers a global approach to managed services while also providing specific solutions from on-site managed services to outsourcing an entire corporate process. Its aim is to build a sound partnership with customers while ensuring the economic and cultural fit of their requirements. The Global Delivery Unit (GDU), a European network of production and business intelligence centres supporting two mirrored supervision centres, enables Steria to offer its customers evolving, homogeneous services in Europe. For Steria, the human factor is a key element in the success of an outsourcing project. It has thus launched two initiatives. The first of these is a 24-point Employee Outsourcing Charter for France illustrating its commitment to the human factor during global managed service agreements involving personnel transfer. This charter is based on a survey of 200 employees transferred to Steria over the last few years. The second is a good conduct charter drawn up in the UK, following a survey of employees from the top ten IT services groups, carried out for Steria by Benchmark Research ("People in Outsourcing"). This charter, called "Managing Change in the 21st Century", is considered to be a reference in the sector.
Example: In July 2006, Steria was awarded a 5-year contract, worth some 9M € to supply a fully managed ICT service to Bristol International Airport (BIA), United Kingdom. Under the terms of the agreement, Steria will take over the management of the airport’s infrastructures and business applications. The project will include the introduction of biometric (fingerprint, iris, hand and facial recognition) security solution and vehicle management systems.
